Setting up a Geopark is a process that is due to the involvement of the whole territory.

It has the effective participation of the key agents in the region, both the public institutions (at all local levels: municipalities and principal counties) and the private and academic sector and local associations. This situation reflects the bottom-up process of the Geoparks.

Conca de Tremp-Montsec Geopark Association was set up in 15 September 2015 to manage the Oríogens Geopark It is formed by a total of 19 municipalities (see the map for details) of four counties (Pallars Jussà, Noguera, Pallars Sobirà and Alt Urgell) and two county councils (Pallars Jussà and La Noguera). The establishment of this Association has ensured the governance and capacity to develop the region.
