Setting up a Geopark is a process that is due to the involvement of the whole territory.
It has the effective participation of the key agents in the region, both the public institutions (at all local levels: municipalities and principal counties) and the private and academic sector and local associations. This situation reflects the bottom-up process of the geoparks.
Geopark Orígens Association
The Geopark Association was established on 15th September 2015 for the management of the Orígens Geopark.
In June 2023 the association took the name Geopark Orígens Association.
The Geoparc Orígens Association is made up of a total of 19 municipalities (detailed on the map) from four counties (Pallars Jussà, Noguera, Pallars Sobirà and Alt Urgell) and 2 county councils (Pallars Jussà and Noguera). This Association guarantees the governance and development capacity of the territory.

Organizational chart
The management of the Orígens Geopark follows a bottom-up structure.
At the consultative level, we find citizen participation organized in working groups of key agents, distributed according to the different key themes that the Geoparc works on.
The decision-making level is made up of the Assembly, constituted by the 21 members who form the Association and the Executive Board.
Finally we find the presidency level, made up of the presidency and the vice-presidency.
