It is one of the best examples of high medieval residential architecture in Catalonia. Built in the 9th century, it became the residence of <strong>Arnau Mir de Tost<\/strong> in the 11th century, who was responsible for the conquest, repopulation, and subsequent control of Pallars Juss\u00e0. Over the centuries, it was the subject of various transactions until, following the 19th-century disappropriations, it was abandoned and gradually deteriorated.
