After four years, this territory located in the Catalan Pyrenees, has been developing the main axes of the geoparks: conservation and research; education and outreach, and sustainable development for the benefit of the local population.

UNESCO, in this first revalidation, has valued the progress made in the Orígens Geopark very positively and, therefore, revalidates it with a green card. This result guarantees the maintenance of this UNESCO designation for four more years. Together with the verdict, the UNESCO has sent some recommendations for the improvement of the Geopark for the next 4 years.

According to Maria Pilar Cases, president of Orígens Geopark, “This renovation is a prize for the territory and the people who live here, and a recognition of the good work done. Specifically, one of the largest titanosaur egg layings in Europe has been found and can now be visited at Dinosfera.
