The Botigues Museu Salàs is a set of nine establishments “trapped in time”: a pharmacy, a tobacco shop, a barbershop, a haberdashery-and-perfume-shop, a grocery shop (in the era when these were associated with ingredients imported from overseas), a printing press, a kiosk, a café and a bar. These period shops represent what life was like for these businesses back in the day in the Catalan Pyrenees, as well as offering a historical snapshot of everyday consumer goods along with marketing and packaging trends over the span of a century, from 1870 to 1970.
The centre has a visitors’ welcome area as well as a space for temporary exhibitions. Groups can book guided tours.
