Geology and Soil interpretation for landscape understanding: Foundations for the Geopark of the “Conca de Tremp-Montsec”
This course is a continuation of the one started last year, with the aim of presenting soils as a useful tool in Quaternary studies, across various climatic environments and geological materials, on a journey through the Nogueres. We will observe and study soil morphologies and characteristics in relation to the current landscape and its evolution according to paleoclimates, as a result of specific pedogenic processes: mobilization of carbonates, clay, mineral alteration, and clay formation.The course is primarily aimed at professionals or students in Geography, Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, and Biology, as well as educational professionals, natural resource managers, and anyone with a basic background in the Quaternary or paleoenvironment studies.
