The Federació Catalana d´Espeleologia is a public interest sports federation that represents Catalan speleology clubs and over 1,600 members. One of its objectives is to work together with the administration and other entities, such as the Geopark Orígens, to preserve the natural environment, especially the subterranean one. The federation studies, catalogs, and preserves all the caves in Catalonia and supports scientists who need to access subterranean environments for their research.
